The Apulia Region and its international dimension
Apulia is one of the twenty Regions of Italy which, together with the municipal and provincial government bodies, constitute the administrative infrastructure of the nation.
Established in 1970 as part of a new System of decentralized government, the regional administrations have acquired an increasing level of autonomy over the years and have effectively become local governments with extensive regulatory powers in a great number of areas. Apulia's regional administration is divided into 14 Departments, each of which his responsible for a specific branch of the administration's activities. The main focus of activities for the Department of Economic Development and Technological Innovation is to sustain the conditions for growth, competitiveness, innovation and international development of regional businesses, whilst enhancing and promoting the distinctive strengths and factors of attraction of the local economy.

Cooking Italian Style
Italian cooking is all about fresh ingredients, locally grown and prepared simply.
From risotto and polenta, to pasta, gnocchi and of course, pizza, it always seems to taste so much better when in Italy. Albeit big distribution, supermarket and foreign markets make available fresh ingredients all year long, Italians know that a given food tastes great only in its season. Think about the elusive artichoke. |

Italian Fashion Houses Fashion in Italy is a national preoccupation. Even the remotest of towns are inhabited by people who care how they look. Unsurprisingly, many Italian Fashion Houses are family-run affairs, be it the unparalleled legacy of Ferragamo or the colourful traditions of Missoni. Some of the Italian Fashion Houses are more than fifty years old, like the house of Valentino which opened its doors in the 1950s. Then there are relatively modern houses like Anteprima, which opened in the 1990s. But the creed for all of these Italian design houses is a search for excellence, of beauty, of stressing the details, and a relentless quest for quality. Powerhouses of Style and Glamour |
